Ocean Oxygen Levels Decline by 2% since 1960!

The Geomar Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research has surprised many scientists with their latest report (period studied- 1960-2010) which indicates at least a 2% decrease in ocean oxygen levels over the 50 years studied(effects inland lakes, too), more in some parts of the ocean system, but not evenly spread.

Potential damage to many species, altering habitat and behaviour, further reducing fish stocks and resulting in changes all the way up the chain.
