New Zealand’s Rare Bird

New Zealand’s rare Wrybill, population 4500-5000 estimated, found only in New Zealand, about 8 inches high, lives and breeds around shallow estuaries and sheltered coasts. Serious habitat loss and predation are the main threats to the continued existence of this special bird.
