For the first time in almost 100 years a wolf pack is making its home in Northern California. The wolf pack is known as the ‘Shasta Pack’; people who think having wolves around think this is a very good thing.
Wolves were exterminated in the state largely by agricultural interests 9 or 10 decades ago fearful that wolf populations would impact negatively on livestock operations…
There was also the fear of ‘The Big Bad Wolf’ by some members of the general population, too.
Wolf populations help to restore the natural balance of things in the wild. Wolves are very adaptable and can literally adapt to almost any climate and circumstance.
