LESS THAN 10 ROYAL CAMBODIAN TURTLES LEFT IN THE WILD

Conservationist report that there are likely less than 10 extremely rare (once considered extinct) Royal Cambodian Turtles left in the wild. Sand dredging, logging transportation and other riverside disturbances in the rare remaining habitat account for the recent decline.

This amphibian is one of 25 Most Endangered amphibian species. Trackers of this turtle are not optimistic with the species survival.

Turtle egg collection for re-introduction is taking place but finding remaining suitable habitat for re-introduction is an issue.
